As the Marketing Specialist, you will help ensure every piece of content reflects WSUFAE’s brand and values, contributes to strategic goals, and connects meaningfully with donors, alumni, and friends of Wichita State. The job duties for this position include:
 
  •    Content Marketing Support
    • Develop content for bi-weekly Shocker Connect newsletter, soliciting stories from development officers, alumni engagement team and the broader campus community. Also contribute stories to bi-annual Shocker Magazine. 
    • Manage creation and coordination of fundraising materials, including proposals and academic college, sponsorship and development one-pagers.   
    • Develop copy for email marketing, including fundraising, event information and campaigns. 
  •    Project Management Support
    • Monitor deadlines and develop project workflow for bi-annual alumni magazine.  
    • Forecast annual projects and conduct project status meetings with WSUFAE marketing team and other key support areas (Donor engagement, Alumni Engagement, Annual Giving).   
 
  •    Marketing Asset Coordination and Development
    • Preparation of print materials in collaboration with vendors and graphic design team, acting as the primary point of contact for obtaining quotes on printed materials with local vendors.  
    • Audit and update WSUFAE print materials on a bi-annual basis. 
 
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure all materials adhere to WSUFAE brand standards, including tone, visual identity, and messaging guidelines. Proofread and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency prior to publication or distribution.
 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field
  • Two years of professional marketing experience 
  • Projects a professional image always
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends to support WSUFAE hosted events.
  • Commitment to the WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement core values of Integrity, collaboration, excellence and service
                          
Required Skills
 
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proven history of creating and editing content
  • Experience working within a collaborative team
  • Creative, out of the box mindset
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintain confidentiality of information, records, and materials
  • Highly motivated and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements
 
  • Daily walking, sitting, and standing for long periods of time
  • Daily use of a computer for long periods of time
  • Daily use of a telephone
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds
  • Must be willing to attend events which may include going up or downstairs or other physical activities and are outside of normal working hours
